Reports to: Camp Director
Supervises: Non – Assist the Program Manager
Term Start: No later than the fourth week of June
Term End: No earlier than last week of August
Wages: $18-$20 per hour dependent on experience. Plus accommodations all summer and meals 5 days
per week

Overview:
The Arts & Crafts Coordinator at Camp McDougall is a creative and resourceful leader responsible for delivering engaging and enriching arts and crafts activities with a focus on outdoor themes and skill-building. Working closely with the Program Manager, the Arts & Crafts Coordinator ensures that campers of all ages experience a dynamic and enjoyable arts program, tailored to camp traditions and outdoor education. This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, an enthusiasm for creative expression, and a dedication to fostering a welcoming and inspiring environment.

Duties

  • Follows all rules and regulations as outlined in the Staff Manual
  • Assists with the implementation of Counsellor Training
  • Participates fully in all camp programs when not conducting arts and crafts sessions
  • Provides the Program Committee with a written outline of weekly activities, including supply and equipment lists, before the start of camp
  • Plans, implements, and supervises daily arts and crafts sessions, serving as a creative resource for campers and staff
  • Maintains the Craft Cabin and keeps an up-to-date inventory of all craft supplies and equipment
  • Keeps a daily log documenting activities, supplies used, and any noteworthy camper experiences

Qualifications:

  • Prior camp experience
  •  Strong background in arts and crafts, ideally with an outdoor focus
  •  Leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work with people of all ages
  • Programming and organizational skills
  •  Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR certification
  • Current Vulnerable Persons Record Check – to be submitted one (1) week prior to the commencement of employment
