Caretaker/Maintenance

Reports to: Head Cook
Term Start: June 15th, 2026
Term End: August 28th, 2026

Wages: Total pay of $ 5,832for the duration of the contract with the opportunity to earn up to $648 in bonus. Camp runs weekly Sunday to Friday.

Additional Compensation: Accommodations for the duration of the summer and meals provided five
days per week.

Overview:

The Caretaker plays a vital role in maintaining the camp’s facilities, grounds, and overall safety.
This part-time position requires an individual who can perform routine maintenance, manage
repairs, and ensure cleanliness across the camp. Reporting to the Head Cook, the Caretaker
ensures a safe and welcoming environment for campers and staff alike by addressing maintenance
issues promptly and keeping all areas hazard-free.

Duties:
● Follows all rules and regulations as outlined in the Staff Manual
● Ensures all garbage is disposed of in the proper area
● Cleans and restocks supplies in all showers and washrooms
● Monitors the water system and equipment; promptly notifies the Camp Director of any issues
● Inspects and reports on faulty electrical circuits, switches, or outlets to the Camp Director
● Replaces broken or burnt-out light bulbs and checks lights in the new building monthly
● Maintains and repairs steps, doors, windows, and screens as needed
● Keeps the camp grounds free of hazards and waste
● Maintains the fire pit area and beachfront to ensure safety and cleanliness
● Accompanies the provincial health inspector during inspections, if present
● Maintains care and control of the 4-wheel all-terrain vehicle
● Attends all camp training sessions as requested by the Camp Director


Requirements & Qualifications:
● Experience in maintenance and repairs
● Ability to work independently and efficiently
● Current Vulnerable Persons Record Check – to be submitted one (1) week prior to commencement of employment
